From Full-Time Job Search To Full-Time Employee in SaaS Sales: Erin’s Aspireship Success Story

Erin G., From Real Estate to SaaS Sales

Before Aspireship I was constantly trying to figure out what was next for me. I was going through the traditional motions of ‘job hunting’ and having no luck- trying to find inspiration in anything. I must have sent out 100 resumes with no luck.

Each week, we’re excited to share the success story interviews of Aspireship students and graduates.

In today’s job market, tech-savvy, ambitious professionals are being overlooked for SaaS sales jobs despite having the soft skills and drive necessary to succeed.  Whether or not you are trying to get hired in tech, searching for jobs is taxing mentally and emotionally. We have heard firsthand about all the approaches independent of Aspireship: scanning “how-to land a SaaS sales job” forums on Reddit and Quora, networking via Linkedin, applying for a job like it’s a full-time job.

According to a report from Zety.com titled, 2021 HR Statistics: Job Search, Hiring, Recruiting & Interviews:

  • The average amount of time to find a job is 24 weeks.”  If you’re doing the math, that’s 6 months!!!!
  • “Job seekers will spend an average of 11 hours a week looking for work.” We think this is a very conservative figure.
  • “It takes 100-200 job applications to get one job offer.” Let that one sink in.

What sounds better to you? 6 months, 11 hours a week, 100-200 applications for ONE JOB OFFER OR 20-30 hours of SaaS Sales Foundations training and passing the assessment with access to our hiring partner network? We’ll let you decide for yourself. The old way of job searching is just that. An old way. Erin’s story is a great example of breaking this ineffective job search cycle by leveraging Aspireship’s SaaS Sales Foundations training and hiring partner network.  After going at it on her own, she turned to Aspireship and finally landed a role as an Account Executive for a staffing software solution.

Here’s what she has to share with others looking to make a career shift into SaaS sales:
